Accessibility

Last updated: October 9, 2026Wellkirk LLC

Ukonik is built to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, larger text or reduced motion. This statement covers the Ukonik web app at ukonik.com and the Ukonik apps for iPhone and Android.

01Our Commitment

Your calendar, your check-ins and your recovery should be just as readable and usable with assistive technology as without it. We treat accessibility problems as bugs, test new features with VoiceOver and TalkBack before release, and check every web change with automated accessibility rules that block new problems from shipping.

02Standards We Follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, along with Apple's and Google's accessibility guidelines for iOS and Android. Ukonik partially conforms today: most of the product meets these standards, and the gaps we know about are listed under Known Limitations.

03What Works Today

Screen readers

  • Buttons, tabs, options and form fields say what they are and whether they're selected (VoiceOver, TalkBack, and screen readers on the web).
  • Saves, errors and sync progress are announced, so you hear "Changes saved" or what went wrong without looking for it.
  • The Nervous System Reset speaks each phase as it starts ("Inhale, 4 seconds") and can be paused and resumed.
  • Calendar days read their date and load band in words, and charts on the web have a spoken summary.
  • Scores read as "points", not letter by letter.

Keyboard (web)

  • A "Skip to content" link is the first stop on every page.
  • Controls can be reached and used with the keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Dialogs and sheets keep focus inside while open, close with Esc, and return focus to where you were.

Seeing and reading

  • Text colors are checked against WCAG contrast minimums in light and dark mode.
  • Color is never the only signal: load levels and changes are also given in words.
  • Page animations are turned off when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Forms support your browser's and phone's autofill for names, email and passwords.

04Known Limitations

We're working on these:

  • Some small labels on the web are below 12 px, and some web controls are smaller than the recommended 44 px touch target.
  • Charts in the iPhone and Android apps don't yet have a spoken summary.
  • Some longer names are shortened on narrow screens instead of wrapping.

If something else gets in your way, please tell us. See Feedback and Help below.

05Tips

Pronouncing "Ukonik". Screen readers may stress the first syllable. The name is said with the stress on the second: you-KON-ik. On iPhone you can teach VoiceOver under Settings › Accessibility › VoiceOver › Speech › Pronunciations.
